Subject: INVITATION to join NYC SIRENS

The New York City Soccer Collective is pleased to invite you to join our
NYCSC Club Women’s team * NYC Sirens * for the SPRING 2016 season.

Scrimmage/tryout sessions are held on TUESDAYS each week at the top of the season.

FALL scrimmage sessions are either Tuesdays 8:15pm - 10:00pm at Chelsea Waterside Park
or 9:45pm - 11:30pm at PIER 40

SPRING scrimmage sessions are generally held Tuesdays 9:45pm - 11:30pm at Chelsea Waterside Park

We generally combine training/scrimmage sessions with all club teams.
(Women’s team * NYC Sirens, Men’s 30+ team * Argo Silver, Men’s Open team * Gotham Argo)

All games are on Sunday.
Our official home field is Pier 40 Courtyard * Sundays at 9pm
on occasion there is a need to use league provided fields for home games.
Away games may be anywhere in the 5 boroughs anytime between 9am and 9pm.

Some games are available on the schedule in advance, but at times the league does not announce game times and locations until the week of the games.

For map and directions to fields please visit: FIELD DIRECTIONS (link in the upper right menu of the home page)

The schedule as we know it is posted on this site as well www.Argonautica.club

We use Sportsvite to coordinate games and sessions and keep track of players who are attending.

Players should post their status ASAP each week so we know as early possible in the week what our numbers are.
Deadline for posting game status each week is Tuesday at 10pm.

The squad includes 16-18 full roster players + 4 on-call subs.

On call subs are invited to attend any/all training sessions and will be called on game days
when 13 or fewer full roster players are available.

Fall season: September through mid-December
Spring season: March through June.
Between 7 - 11 games per season plus weekly training sessions and scrimmages.

Continuing fees for full time roster players, beginning SPRING 2017, will be somewhere around $150-$160
per season.  (twice per year - each Fall and Spring), on-call sub fees are the same each season.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER:

1) The club colors are Violet and Black with accents of Red and Indigo.
The main uniforms are custom designed violet kits.   NYC Sirens and Gotham Argo are currently in Black alternates but all club teams will be in Violet kits by Spring 2014.

2) This is a management run team.  We encourage feedback and input from all players,
but ultimately all decisions are made by management.
This includes Coach selection, Player selection, Uniforms etc…

3) Teams typically play home games in Manhattan, though on occasion there is a need to use league
provided fields.  Away games are typically accessible via public transport, though on occasion
there is a need to carpool or make other arrangements.  During the season,
teams also compete in a State Cup Tournament, which is a single elimination format with
games that may on occasion take us further away from the city.

4) Players are expected to project a positive attitude and support their teammates at all times, winning or losing.

CLUB PHILOSOPHY

In terms of an overall philosophy and approach for this club,
the focus of the NYC Soccer Collective is to enjoy playing together,
playing the game as good sportsmen and women, giving everyone on the
team the opportunity to play and develop as a team member, and, in general,
have a positive approach to training, winning, and even losing.  A copy of
our club’s mission statement and player agreement, which must be signed by
everyone that decides to join the team as a full or on-call roster member,
includes a commitment to our club philosophy.

Please respond as soon as possible to let us know if you accept this invitation to join the squad.

If you do not wish to accept this invitation or have any questions, please
feel free to email
PLAY@NYCSoccerCollective.net

Thank you!
We look forward to having you join us soon!
